20CrMnTi Gear Steel Bar

20CrMnTi gear steel bar is commonly used in China for carburized gears, pinions and transmission components. It supports parts that need a hard tooth surface for wear resistance while retaining a tougher core beneath it.

For gear manufacturers, the material is part of a planned machining and heat-treatment route. Teeth are generally cut before carburizing, with allowance for any required finishing afterward. Control of movement during hardening is important where tooth accuracy and fit affect the completed assembly.

We could provide add-on services, including cut size and delivery condition. The required case depth and final properties belong in the component specification. A replacement grade should be assessed against those requirements rather than treated as a direct naming equivalent.

More Details

We can supply 20CrMnTi bars or quote cut blanks for individual gear sizes. Send us the blank diameter, length and quantity for each item.

A size close to your needs can reduce turning time and scrap. We also check the extra material you need for later machining, so the saving does not leave you short of finishing allowance.

If your workshop has an approved supply condition or incoming hardness range, include it in the enquiry. We can quote against those requirements to support your existing cutting process.

Cutting and Hole Work

We can review cutting and specified drilling from your drawing. This can reduce the preparation work before the blanks reach your gear-cutting machines.

For a bore that will be ground after hardening, we use the agreed unfinished size. We do not treat it as a finished fit at the blank stage.

For mixed orders, we can agree on labels and packing by blank size. This helps your workshop identify the pieces and move them to the correct job.
