Control the Cost of Each Blank
For 65Mn parts made in quantity, excess width or thickness adds cost to every piece. We have full range of available stock sizes, closer sizes to the final components can reduce scrap and machining.
Dexter Steel can quote full bars or cut blanks. For flat parts, send the required width, thickness and length. Identify which faces will be machined so the allowance is clear.
The supplied hardness should suit the work in your shop. Softer stock may be needed where the part will be bent or heavily machined before hardening.
Holes, Slots and Worked Edges
We can review drilling and slotting from your drawing. These operations are usually easier before final hardening.
For parts that flex repeatedly, the drawing should show:
- Hole and slot positions.
- Required corner radii.
- Burr removal and edge finishing.
Sharp marks at a worked edge can shorten spring life. These details are worth defining even on a simple part.
If the assembly includes welding, tell us before ordering. 65Mn needs a separate welding review.
